Flight: Jetstar Asia 3K 695
From: Singapore (SIN) To: Hong Kong (HKG)
I flew with Jetstar Asia from Singapore to Hong Kong. I compared flights with Skyscanner.com to find what the best options were, and this flight had the combination of time and price right for my needs.
Jetstar is a low cost airline that was formed by Qantas in Australia. I have flown the Australian Jetstar (JQ) from Singapore to Melbourne, and Jetstar Pacific (BL) which is based in Vietnam. There is also Jetstar Japan (GK) which I have yet to fly. All of them have the same Jetstar branding and accessed from the same website (much like Air Asia) but are run as separate entities to each other.
Jetstar Asia (3K) is based out of Singapore and cover mostly Southeast Asia and a few China and Japan destinations.
When looking for budget airline flights around Southeast Asia I do consider which airport I may have to transit through. If there is a choice I will usually favour Singapore airport if the prices are roughly the same.
The flight from Singapore to Hong Kong is scheduled at 4 hours travel time on Airbus A320.
The seat have those weird set pockets on the head which only hold magazines. I guess they do this so they don’t have to clean out the pockets, but it is annoying to not be able to put little items and a water bottle somewhere.
Jetstar Magazine – the inflight magazine of Jetstar Asia.
There is no free meal service on Jetstar so you can order food in advance or buy something onboard. Singapore airport actually has reasonably priced food so I usually eat before flying from Singapore. A sandwich and drink combination pack was $11 SGD ($7.85 USD).
An Hong Kong immigration card is handed out if you need one.
Overall this was a good flight to get from Singapore to Hong Kong at a cheap rate.
