Hotel Review: Hotel not Hotel, Amsterdam

Hotel Review: Hotel not Hotel, Amsterdam

Hotel Name: Hotel not Hotel
Address: Piri Reisplein 34 Witte de Withstraat 38 1057 XZ, Amsterdam

I stayed at the Hotel not Hotel as a guest of the hotel, which was organised by the Amsterdam Tourism Board.

Hotel Not Hotel

The Hotel not Hotel have taken the basic room with a shared bathroom model and given it a Dutch designer touch. This hotel features a selection of designer rooms with different themes, such as the “Amsterdam Tram Cart” room.

Tram Room

My room was upstairs in a reading area that overlooks the lobby and common area. Upon arrival it looks like a reading library with bookshelves and comfortable lounge chairs.

Bookshelf

The rooms are hidden behind the bookshelves, with shelves being secret doors for the rooms. I love this idea and if I had a house I would do this myself. The trick here was to remember what books are near your key as there are no numbers.

Bookshelf Door

The room itself is small, featuring a double bed, shower, and sink area. The toilets are in the shared bathroom area.

Hotel Not Hotel Bed

Downstairs there is a common area with a work table and lounge chairs, and there is also a bar where guests and the public are free to mingle. Breakfast (extra) is served here in the morning.

Common Table

The hotel is located in West Amsterdam, near a tram line that takes you direct to Centraal Station.
