Guesthouse Review: AS Montenegro Suites, Podgorica – Montenegro

October 5, 2021 By James Clark

Guest House Review: AS Montenegro Suites, Podgorica - Montenegro

Hotel Name: AS Montenegro Suites.
Address: ul. Hotska 15a, Podgorica, Montenegro.

I stayed at AS Montenegro Suites in Podgorica, Montenegro. I booked online at the rate of €17.90 per night, and I pickded it for its price and location in Podgorica.

I was unfamiliar with where would be the best are to stay in Podgorica, so I just picked something near the bus/train station. I arrived by bus and departed by train so the location was ideal.

Podgorica is a small city anyway so the location wasn’t a big issue. AS Montenegro Suites is less than a 10-minute walk from the station in a suburban area.

Hotska

The guesthouse is in a nondescript house but easy enough to find.

AS Montenegro Suites entrance

The guesthouse is a family-run operation that also lives there, and I was greeted by the owner upon arrival.

AS Montenegro Suites

I got a single room with a private bathroom.

AS Suites room

The room was small, with just enough room for my bags in front of the bed. There is free wifi at the guesthouse, but I had problems with the reception in my room. I found I had to sit at the end of the bed to pick up the reception, so maybe the wifi signal box was too far down the hall.

AS Suites bed

The bathroom was equally small, with barely enough room to place toiletries. There was a good hot water system and it was kept clean and tidy. In what seemed to be a regional peculiarity, the bath towels were too small to wrap around myself.

AS Suites bathroom

Overall this was a good option as a cheap crash pad if you prefer a private room over a dorm bed. Check rates for the AS Montenegro Suites, or search for more hotels in Podgorica.

If you’ve never been or even heard of Podgorica, here is my report: Notes on Podgorica – From provincial outpost to nation’s capital.
