Accommodation Name: Arena House Liverpool
Address: 82-84 Duke Street, Liverpool, L1 5AA, United Kingdom.
I stayed at Arena House Liverpool and I booked online at the rate of £25.20 per night ($36 USD) for a single room. Coincidentally that was exactly the same amount I paid the night before for an 8-bed dorm in London. So yes, London is expensive.
Arena House is ideally located in central Liverpool near the Ropewalks area (named for streets where ropes used to be laid out). This close to the historic docks area, and you walk to the main things to do in Liverpool from here.
I’ve listed this as accommodation because it isn’t a hostel or hostel or apartment rental. Arena House is a student accommodation centre that also rents out rooms to the public, which is how I found it on Agoda. They have people staying there monthly as well.
Upon arrival there is no reception so I had instructions on how to retrieve the key and enter my room. The instructions were straightforward and there was no drama of waiting for a key.
I got a single room with a shared bathroom and shared kitchen. The shared facilities was with two other rooms. My single room had a traditional skinny single bed and a table. The room felt new and it was comfortable.
The kitchen had everything you need for self-catering, and there are supermarkets nearby if you want to cook.
There were two bathrooms and they were both clean and in good order.
There was wifi with the password on the main noticeboard. I had crapy wifi in my room though, which was frustrating. I ended up taking one Skype call in the common area as the signal in my room wasn’t good. I didn’t know what the rest of the rooms were like, but that was just for my room.
Overall this was a good budget place to stay, despite the wifi. It was good to have a private room in the middle of the city. Book the Arena House Liverpool online or search for more hotels and hostels in Liverpool.
