Supertree Grove – Singapore

Supertree Grove - Singapore

The Supertree Grove at Gardens by the Bay is a forest of tree-like structures that have become an instant landmark in this part of Singapore. The Gardens by the Bay is a new park that has been built on reclaimed land, behind the massive Marina Bay Sands hotel, and next to the Singapore river. The park still has that just planted feel to it, but once the (real) trees are established this place could become one of the worlds great urban parks.

I followed the link you embedded and found out that the Supertrees are made of four parts: reinforcement concrete core, trunk, planting panels of the living skin, and canopy. So what I thought looked like a fern or moss growing on the “trunk” really is just that. Very cool idea.
