The terraces of Pamukkale (“cotton castle” in Turkish) are formed by sedimentary rock (Travertine) deposited by water from hot springs which cascade down from a plateau.

    I’m trying to decide whether or not we can make it here.  I really want to see it but I don’t know if it’s worth the hassle.  Argh.  Your picture is lovely, though!

      I discovered that Turkey has way too many places worth visiting, so it is a tough choice. For me it was in my general path of travel so it was worth going to.

    There’s so much beauty to see in Turkey. I, unfortunately, was too ill while visiting Istanbul to venture out any further. Something to look forward to.
