Like many cities in the Netherlands, Utrecht has lots of canals. If you have been spending all your time in Amsterdam you might think that you have seen enough canals. The canals in Utrecht are unique though as they are lined by wharf quays and wharf cellars, which are set below street level. There are 4km’s of these canals and many of the cellars have been converted in restaurants and shops.

It looks beautiful there!
gorgeous photo!!
Lovely shot. The bikes, the canal, flowers, adorable houses…very inviting and makes me wish I could jump right in there.
Wow…the funny thing is that I just went to an art supply store last night to buy a frame. The store’s name? Utrecht’s! Wonder if it was named for this pretty city?
I’ve been to Amsterdam and Utrecht do have some similarities in terms of canal, layout, bicycle and flowers. It’s just a perfect city setting!
Really a typical and representative photo of that city – well captured!
