I am flying to Mumbai tomorrow with Australia’s flag carrier Qantas. I fly to Sydney first then connect 2 hours later for a 14 and a half hour direct flight to Mumbai.
The Age featured an article about the hubbing of international Qantas flights out of Sydney. It is a fair enough business decision to do this, but I would have thought Melbourne is big enough for more direct flights. It seems that Indian Airlines thinks so as they will soon be operating direct flights from New Delhi to Melbourne.
