Greetings from Saigon. I’m heading off to Taipei today so this will be the last Nomadic News from Saigon for a while.
The Digital Nomad’s Guide to Coffee Shop Etiquette – Luiz Centenaro lists some practical tips for those working in cafes (and I’ve also added this to the Work Cafes page).
How I work as a digital nomad – Greg from Typical Programmer gives some tips on living the location-independent lifestyle.
The 2014 Traveler 50: World’s Smartest Cities – A top 50 city list from a different perspective, from National Geographic.
In defense of looking nice for your flight or train ride – I’m not a suit-and-tie kind of guy but I do like to wear at least a collared shirt and shoes when flying.
What it means if Scotland becomes world’s newest independent state – The referendum on Scottish independence is coming up this week and at this point it is too close to call. A yes vote could create a domino effect of other regions applying for independence (and adding more countries for country counters to visit).
The Life and Death of a ‘Cool’ City – The New Republic asks which metropolis will Berlin’s tourist hordes descend on next?
5 life lessons from 5 years of traveling the world – Mark Manson makes some insightful observations on life as seen through travellers eyes.
5 Years of Total Freedom & World Travel – Rob of Stop Having a Boring Life fame has been on the road for 5 years. I know Rob and can attest that he is definitely not having a boring life.
I’m Celebrating 10 Years as a Nomad! – Nomadtopia has been nomadding for 10 years – congrats!
Office Of The Week
[Highlands Tax Centre – Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.]
Todays Office Of The Week may not be the sexiest office view but if you are into InfrastructurePorn and are in Saigon you should go to the Highlands Cafe at the Tax Centre. The view is of the metro system that is being built in district 1. I went to this cafe purely out of nostalgia because by the time I return to Saigon this building will be closed down for demolition.
